| JACKSONVILLE – Gerry Boeneman, president of Ryland Homes’ Jacksonville Division, recently accepted the Good Neighbor Award for his company’s community involvement and contributions to area charitable organizations in 2007. The annual award was presented Nov. 19 by Florida Homebuyer Jacksonville and the Northeast Florida Builders Association after Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton proclaimed the date “Good Neighbor Appreciation Day.” “Ryland has always made giving back to the community a big part of our business, and it’s especially important in today’s tough times,” Boeneman said after receiving the award for Ryland. Ryland Homes – which has 11 communities in the Greater Jacksonville area – also sponsors several athletic and children’s programs throughout the city, including Boy Scouts, Clay High School Football, Creeks Athletic Association, and Best Buddies. Some of the projects initiated or participated in by Ryland last year include: a monthly cooking event, a three-mile walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs food drive; and an Angel Christmas Tree that benefited daniel[CQ], a foundation for children from abusive homes.
